RDA Far North Small Business Drought Support Program – Expression of Interest Now Open!
The RDA Far North Small Business Drought Support Program is designed to increase the skills, capability, and capacity of South Australian small and family drought impacted businesses across the Far North region, with the aim of also supporting profitability, competitiveness, efficiency and diversification.
This two-year program (2025-2027) will look to address business profitability and competitiveness through Business Planning with a focus on alternate revenue streams and diversification, strategic planning, all supported by one-to-one mentoring to assist with adoption and implementation of recommended actions and a limited number of workshops (dates & locations to be confirmed).
The programs three key initiatives are:
1. Financial Management, Risk Mitigation and Diversification:
- Covering financial literacy and continuity planning ensuring businesses can manage cash flow, access capital, and respond to market disruptions effectively.
- Training on financial risk management providing businesses with tools to mitigate potential threats, enhancing long-term stability and enabling stronger drought resilience.
2. Technology Adoption and Market Expansion:
- A focus on AI adaptation, digital audits, and modern marketing strategies will assist businesses to leverage technology to find efficiencies.
- Sessions on market expansion and branding ensure businesses can identify and capitalize on new opportunities.
3. Profitability through Business and Strategic Planning:
- Business Plans with a focus on alternate revenue streams and business diversification opportunities.
- Planning sessions on circular economy opportunities and ESG compliance prepare businesses to align with future market trends and regulatory changes.
- Human resource planning assists businesses in becoming employers of choice, contributing to workforce stability and productivity.
